  6. on the screen portrayed a gallery of roles from twits to tycoons
  7. to a future President; in Santa Monica, Calif. Bellamy was the
  8. perfect foil for Cary Grant in classic screwball comedies like
  9. The Awful Truth (1937). He created a gallant Franklin Roosevelt
  10. battling polio in Sunrise at Campobello (1960) and a grizzled
  11. corporate lion fending off a leveraged buyout in last year's
  12. Pretty Woman.
